For a long time, astrophysicists have faced a mystery that challenged our understanding of the formation of the Solar System. ### Solving the Contradiction

The key discovery was the finding that the concentration of silver in the Sun's core is approximately 55% higher than previous estimates suggested. This finding is of fundamental importance for astrophysics, as it resolves a long-standing contradiction between the composition of our star and the composition of the oldest meteorites.

Chondrite meteorites, formed about 4.6 billion years ago from the same gas-dust cloud as the Sun, always contained significantly more silver than the star itself seemed to. This discrepancy made scientists doubt the accuracy of planetary system formation models. The new three-dimensional model of the Sun's internal structure, created by researchers, has finally put an end to this debate.

### How the New Model Was Obtained

Previous methods of analyzing the solar spectrum did not account for the complex physical processes occurring inside the star. The new model, for the first time, fully accounts for the movement of matter between different layers of the Sun and the specifics of the interaction of atoms with powerful radiation.

Thanks to this, researchers were able to reproduce the spectrum of sunlight much more accurately. Calculations showed that there is significantly more silver in the depths of the star than was previously thought. Now, the concentration of this element in the Sun almost matches its content in ancient meteorites, confirming the unity of origin of all bodies in the Solar System.

### Significance for Studying the Universe

This breakthrough goes far beyond the study of just our star. According to the authors of the study, a similar modeling approach can be applied to analyze other stars. This will allow scientists to better understand the processes by which heavy elements, including silver, are formed and accumulated in the Universe.

Thus, revising data on solar silver not only corrects errors in astrophysical tables but also opens new horizons for understanding the chemical evolution of space.
