# Thunderstorm and fire hazard: forecasters warn of difficult weather in Ukraine on July 29

On July 29, the weather in Ukraine may become unpredictable. Forecasters from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMC) have warned residents of several regions about possible precipitation, thunderstorms, and, most importantly, a high level of fire danger.

### High-pressure field and cold front

Overall, for Wednesday, July 29, forecasters predict a rise in atmospheric pressure. The high-pressure field should ensure dry weather in most regions of the country. However, against the general trend, local deviations are expected.

The cause of instability will be a cold atmospheric front. It is this front that brings rain of varying intensity. The most complex situation is expected at night in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where heavy precipitation is forecast in some areas.

### Extreme fire danger

In addition to precipitation, meteorologists are sounding the alarm regarding the fire situation. Specialists from UkrGMC have issued a warning about an extreme level of fire danger on July 29 and 30.

This status means that in certain regions, conditions for the occurrence and spread of fire will be critical. High temperatures, dry air, and wind create an ideal environment for fires, so residents must exercise maximum caution when handling fire.

### Rescue Service recommendations

Given the probability of thunderstorms and the complex weather situation, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) reminded citizens of safety rules.

During a thunderstorm, specialists recommend:

- Avoid open spaces and do not take shelter under isolated trees.

- Do not use mobile phones with wired connections.

- Close windows and doors to prevent lightning or hail from entering.

- Unplug electrical appliances from the network.

The press service of the department urged citizens to take care of themselves and strictly observe safety rules in conditions of changeable weather.

Overall, the weather on July 29 is expected to be partly cloudy. At altitude, a cool air mass will enter Ukraine from the northwest, which may slightly reduce the heat, but will not rule out the risk of fires.

Earlier, forecasters had already refuted information about anomalous temperatures in August, however, the current forecast requires residents to pay attention to the warnings of meteorologists and rescue services.
