# Thunderstorms and gusts: sharp weather changes expected in Ukraine on July 3

On July 3, Ukraine is forecast to experience a sharp change in weather conditions. Following a period of anomalous heat observed at the end of June, meteorologists are warning of widespread precipitation and strong winds.

According to data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, reviewed by RBC-Ukraine, most regions of the country will see short-term rain and thunderstorms. Wind gusts are expected in some areas.

### Geography of precipitation

The most complex situation is expected in the western and northern regions, as well as in the Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Mykolaiv oblasts. Storm activity will also affect central regions during the daytime.

Meteorologists are warning of the following phenomena:

- Moderate and locally heavy rain;

- Thunderstorms;

- Hail is possible in certain areas;

- Wind gusts with speeds of 15–20 m/s.

Elsewhere in the country, precipitation is not expected.

### Temperature regime

Despite the storm activity, air temperatures in most regions will reach between 29 and 34 degrees Celsius during the day. However, the heat will begin to subside in some areas.

In the Kyiv region, thermometers will show 25–30 °C. In the western regions, as well as in the Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia oblasts, temperatures will be lower — ranging from 22 to 27 °C.

### End of heatwaves

Experts note that the wave of record-breaking heat that swept across Ukraine at the end of June is gradually subsiding. Temperature record highs had previously been recorded in various regions of the country.

Meteorologists share an optimistic forecast: air temperatures may soon return to comfortable levels, which will be good news for residents suffering from the summer heat.
