# Thunderstorms, hail, and heat: forecasters warn of contrasting weather in Ukraine on July 19

On July 19, Ukraine is expected to experience a sharp change in weather conditions. According to a forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, cited by RBC-Ukraine, the day will be marked by contrasts: while the air in some areas will warm up to +31°C, other regions will face downpours, thunderstorms, and hail.

### Where gusts and downpours will arrive

The most complex situation is forecast for the western part of the country. Moderate and heavy rain is expected in the western regions, as well as in the Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Odesa oblasts. Meteorologists warn of possible thunderstorms; in some areas, hail and gusty wind strengthening to 15–20 m/s are possible.

In most regions, the wind will blow predominantly from the south at 7–12 m/s, however, in the western regions, the wind direction will change to northwesterly. The rest of the territory of Ukraine will remain without precipitation, enjoying relatively stable weather.

### Situation in Kyiv

The capital and the Kyiv region will fall into the zone of unstable weather. Variable cloudiness is expected in the city. Forecasters promise that brief rain and thunderstorms are possible during the day. Residents of the capital should be prepared for sudden weather changes and have rain protection at hand.

### Forecast context

This forecast is part of the general weather picture for July, which Ukrainian meteorologists previously outlined. The situation with temperature and precipitation contrasts is typical for this period, however, the intensity of the gusts requires attention.
