Georgiy Tikhii, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, severely criticized the Kremlin's rhetoric about a "near victory" in his account on the social network X. According to him, the real situation on the front and the loss statistics completely contradict the statements of the Russian authorities.

Tikhii reminded that the aggressive war launched by Moscow with the expectation of a lightning-fast success has already lasted for the fifth year. During this time, the Russian side has failed to implement any of the set goals. The MFA spokesperson announced a shocking figure: in more than four years of full-scale invasion, Russia has lost 1.3 million men.

"POV: you speak as if you are about to win the war (for the fifth year in a row). REALITY: you started an aggressive war trying to win quickly; you achieved no goals, losing 1.3 million men in over 4 years," wrote the Ukrainian diplomat.

### Halting the offensive and escalation on Russian territory

According to data from the Ukrainian ministry, attempts by Russian military to advance are currently completely blocked by Ukrainian defenders. Tikhii emphasized that the war has ceased to be exclusively a border conflict and has begun to return directly to the territory of the Russian Federation.

"Your slow advance has stopped — the war is returning to your territory," summarized the MFA representative.

### Internal crisis in Russia

The statements by the MFA spokesperson came against the backdrop of serious internal tension in Russia. Recently, Vladimir Putin spoke at the congress of the "United Russia" party, where he called the current period "fateful" for the country. In his speech, he claimed that the West is allegedly trying to get rid of the RF and declared the military fighting against Ukraine the new "true elite" of Russian society.

However, such statements differ from real sociological data. In June, the level of trust of Russian citizens in Putin plummeted to a historical minimum since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, amounting to only 69%. The president's rating dropped sharply after the largest air attack on Moscow.

The situation inside the country is becoming so acute that for the first time in the State Duma, there was a public demand for the leadership to present a clear plan for ending hostilities against Ukraine. This indicates that the internal Russian agenda is beginning to shift from victory rhetoric to searching for a way out of a prolonged deadlock.
