On the night of August 5, a tragedy occurred in the Brovary district of the Kyiv region, claiming the lives of eight people. The victims of the Russian strike were passengers waiting for a train at the 'Kvitneve' railway station. This incident became one of the most severe consequences of the night attack on the region.

Vitaliy Bigun, Head of the Brovary District State Administration, confirmed the scale of the tragedy while on the scene. According to him, the train was delayed, and people who missed the last train remained on the platform. It was at that moment that the station was struck.

### Scale of destruction and casualties

The situation on the ground remains critical. Significant damage has been recorded in five locations in the area. Among the affected objects are logistics companies, including major market player Fozzy Food, which specializes in food products. Russian occupiers struck civilian infrastructure again, damaging numerous residential buildings.

According to the latest data, eight people have died. Three people are missing, their fate remains unknown. About 12 injured people are in hospitals receiving urgent medical care. Rescue services continue to work at the scene, trying to assess the full extent of the destruction.

### Fires and logistics hubs

Particular attention is drawn to a fire at one of the largest logistics hubs involved in cargo transportation. The State Emergency Service (SES) is still fighting the fire, trying to contain the blaze. Earlier that same night, Russia destroyed key logistics centers of the 'Epitsentr' network, which indicates a targeted attack on the country's infrastructure.

The air defense system failed to repel the new missile attack, which led to significant destruction and human casualties. The number of injured people in Kyiv also increased after the air raid, highlighting the scale of the threat to the population.

Currently, work is underway to determine the exact extent of the damage and to search for possible survivors under the rubble. The tragedy at 'Kvitneve' station is yet another reminder of the price paid by the civilian population in the conditions of the ongoing war.
