# Transport fares in Kyiv have increased: new tariffs, discounts, and how to save on your commute from July 15

Starting July 15, new tariffs for public transport in Kyiv have come into effect. The cost of a single trip is now 30 hryvnias. This change affects all passengers using buses, trolleybuses, trams, the metro, and the funicular.

### New pricing system: the more you buy, the cheaper it gets

The Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) emphasizes that the price of a trip depends directly on the number of tickets purchased. The system is designed so that the more trips you buy at once, the lower the cost of each one. This decision aims to encourage regular users to purchase monthly passes.

For those who plan their trips in advance, monthly passes are available. When purchasing such a pass, the cost per trip drops to 23.3–23.6 hryvnias. This represents significant savings compared to single-ride tickets.

### Unlimited pass becomes more affordable

One of the key changes is the reduction in the price of the unlimited monthly pass. Following public discussion, the price was revised and reduced by 25% from the initially proposed amount. Now, the unlimited pass, valid on all types of city transport — metro, bus, tram, trolleybus, and funicular — costs 3,656 hryvnias instead of the previously announced 4,875 hryvnias.

This decision resulted from feedback from citizens and has made unlimited travel more accessible for those who actively use public transport daily.

### Discounts remain in place

It is important to note that all benefits for citizens entitled to free or discounted travel on municipal public passenger transport remain in force. There have been no changes in this regard.

### How to save on transport in Kyiv today

If you regularly use public transport, consider the following options:

  - Purchase monthly passes — they offer a discount on every trip.

  - Consider an unlimited pass if you make more than 150 trips a month — it pays for itself and saves money.

  - Use your benefits if you are eligible — they are fully preserved.

The new tariffs have been in effect since July 15 and will remain so until further notice. Passengers are advised to check the latest information on the official KCSA resources or in ticket purchasing apps.
