# Trump on Putin: 'These are different people' — Kislitsa's statement on the shift in US policy

Sergey Kislitsa, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, revealed details of his dialogue with the US administration in an interview. According to him, Donald Trump, having assumed the office of US President, has formed a clear understanding of the course of the Russo-Ukrainian war and has radically changed his view of Vladimir Putin.

### 'Putin today and a year ago are different people'

Kislitsa quoted a direct statement from his conversation with the American leader. Trump noted that the Russian president has undergone significant changes over the past year, becoming virtually a different person. This observation became a key element in shaping Washington's new position.

According to the Ukrainian diplomat, the basis for this conclusion is an objective assessment of the situation on the battlefield and Moscow's geopolitical failures. According to Kislitsa, the White House does not ignore facts indicating that Russia is not achieving its goals.

### List of Kremlin failures in the eyes of the US

The Ukrainian official listed specific aspects that, in his opinion, are visible in Washington:

- Russia has still not captured the Donbas, despite massive efforts.

- Diplomatic failures: losing the election in Yerevan and betting incorrectly on Iran.

- Deteriorating economic situation within the Russian Federation.

- 'Incredibly impressive successes' of Ukraine in delivering deep and medium-range strikes on enemy territory.

'This adds up to a picture where, at the very least, Putin is not winning the war, and probably he is losing it,' Kislitsa emphasized.

### Debunking myths about 'Anchorage'

Special attention in the interview was paid to rumors of a possible secret deal between Trump and Putin. Kislitsa referred to a statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who made it clear that there was no agreement in Alaska. According to the Ukrainian side, this was an important signal from Washington intended to dispel 'scheming' and show the real state of affairs.

Previously, Kislitsa had predicted the collapse of the Russian economy and revealed details of upcoming meetings of leaders. Current statements only confirm that the US course of supporting Ukraine remains unchanged, despite the change of administration in the White House.
