# Trump on Talks with Iran: 'We Will Simply Go Silent, But the Blockade Remains'

US President Donald Trump commented on reports of a possible breakdown in negotiations with Iran and responded to questions about the resumption of military action. According to him, Washington has not yet received an official notification from Tehran regarding the cessation of dialogue.

### 'We Have Talked Too Much'

During his speech, Trump expressed the opinion that the parties have already communicated too much and proposed changing tactics. 'To be honest, I think we have talked too much. I think it would be very good to simply go silent,' the American leader stated.

At the same time, he made it clear that a pause in negotiations does not mean an automatic return to large-scale military operations. 'It does not mean that we will go there and start dropping bombs,' Trump explained. 'We will simply go silent. We will maintain the blockade. The blockade is a piece of steel.'

### Pressure Without Rushing

The US President emphasized that he sees no need to rush to conclude a new agreement. In his opinion, Washington already has sufficient leverage to influence Tehran. Thus, Trump signaled his readiness to continue the policy of pressure without resorting to new military escalation for now.

### Iran's Position

It should be recalled that Iran suspended negotiations with the US due to the escalation of hostilities in Lebanon. In Tehran, they stated that they would not return to dialogue until Israeli military operations in the region cease. At the same time, Iranian authorities warned of their readiness to increase pressure on opponents, in particular, due to the possible blocking of the Strait of Hormuz and other important sea routes.

Despite this, according to Reuters, Tehran continues to promote the idea of a temporary agreement with the US. Such a move would allow easing sanctions pressure and stabilizing the economic situation without concessions on key issues of the nuclear program.
