# Trump puzzled by Pentagon spending: 'We have enough ammunition, but we would like more'

US President Donald Trump publicly commented on the situation with weapon stockpiles in the country, refuting concerns about the depletion of arsenals. His statement came against a backdrop of growing anxiety in the media and within the administration regarding the rate of consumption of precision weapons and air defense interceptors in the Middle East.

### Tension within the Pentagon

Anonymous sources in US military and intelligence circles told CBS News that the rapid pace at which Washington is spending its most advanced weapon systems is causing serious tension. Experts and officials fear that current rates could undermine the country's readiness for future large-scale conflicts.

When a reporter asked Trump directly whether he was concerned about the depletion of weapon stockpiles, the president responded confidently:

"No. We have enough. We have a lot of ammunition. Various types," the White House chief stated.

### Biden's legacy and plans for expansion

During his speech, Trump once again touched on the topic of his predecessor Joe Biden, noting the massive arms supplies being made to Ukraine. According to the president, it is precisely because of these supplies that current stockpiles are in the process of being replenished.

"You know, Biden gave a lot to Ukraine. And that's why we are building them up (ammunition). But we have a lot. We also have a lot of mid-level stuff. I mean, more than we could use under any circumstances. But we have a lot. Honestly, I would like to have more," Trump emphasized.

Despite confidence in current volumes, the president acknowledged that the US would like to increase supplies of some of the most advanced technologies.

### Financial complexities of the conflict

Trump's statement about the sufficiency of resources comes against a backdrop of financial difficulties faced by the administration. Recently, it became known about problems with financing military operations against Iran. An additional spending package necessary to continue operations is practically stuck in Congress, forcing the White House to seek alternative sources of funds.

Earlier reports stated that the war between the United States and Iran has already cost the American budget tens of billions of dollars.
