US President Donald Trump expressed strong criticism of Israel's military strike on Beirut. The White House chief called the event something that "should not have happened," especially given the current diplomatic context in the Middle East.

Trump posted his comments on the social network Truth Social. According to him, the attack was carried out at a critically important moment when Washington and Tehran are on the verge of signing a peace agreement.

### "Very insignificant and senseless"

In his statement, the US leader tried to find a balance between supporting an ally and the need to achieve peace. He emphasized that Israel undoubtedly has the right to self-defense and protection from threats. However, assessing the specific actions in Beirut, Trump called them "very insignificant and senseless".

The President noted that no one was injured as a result of this strike. Based on this fact, he stated that the incident should not become an obstacle to completing the process of reaching a deal with Iran.

### Call for a ceasefire

Trump warned that the parties are very close to an agreement that could bring stability and peace to the Middle East, including Lebanon. In this regard, he called on all parties to the conflict to immediately cease hostilities.

"There must be no more Israeli attacks anywhere in Lebanon, but there must also be no more attacks from any other side, including 'Hezbollah,' against Israel," the US President summarized.

In Trump's opinion, compliance with this condition could be the beginning of a "long and beautiful peace," which is now under threat due to new outbreaks of violence.
