On the eve of critically important parliamentary elections in Armenia, scheduled for June 7, the region's political map has received an unexpected and powerful boost. US President Donald Trump has publicly announced his full support for the incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, calling him a "great friend" and a leader capable of making the country strong and secure.

### Geopolitical Shift: From Words to Action

In his post on the social network Truth Social, Trump went beyond simple compliments. He emphasized that Pashinyan shares the American vision of peace and economic development for the entire region. This statement sounds like a direct signal not only to the Armenian electorate but also to the US geopolitical competitors in the South Caucasus.

Of particular interest is the initiative announced by Trump, titled **Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP)** — "Trump's Route for International Peace and Prosperity." According to the American leader's plan, this project is intended to transform regional logistics, opening new routes for US energy companies between Central Asia and the global market.

### Context: Moscow's Pressure and Yerevan's Response

Washington's support comes against the backdrop of strained relations between Armenia and Russia. Moscow has already expressed serious dissatisfaction with Yerevan's course of rapprochement with the European Union, threatening consequences similar to the events of 2014 in Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called such a development vector "unacceptable," which only intensified tensions in bilateral relations.

Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, demonstrates confidence in his own strength and the country's democratic institutions. Earlier, during a meeting with the Russian leader, he parried criticism, ironically noting the "excess" of democracy in Armenia and the absence of political prisoners. Now, with the support of one of the world's most influential politicians behind him, Pashinyan is preparing the ground for re-election in 2026, putting at stake not only domestic politics but also the strategic future of the entire South Caucasus.
