# UAV Strike in the Center of Chernihiv: Administrative Building Destroyed, University Damaged, One Casualty Reported

An incident involving a strike by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) occurred in the center of Chernihiv. The impact was recorded near an administrative building. As a result of the attack, one person sustained injuries, a fire broke out in the building, and structural elements and glazing of a neighboring educational institution were damaged.

According to official data from the Chernihiv City Military Administration (CMA), the attack took place on July 21, 2026. The head of the CMA, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, confirmed that the epicenter of the strike was an administrative building in the central part of the city.

### Extent of Damage and Casualties

According to authorities, structural elements of the facility were partially destroyed as a result of the explosion. A fire was also recorded. The damage affected neighboring buildings as well: facade structures and window openings of a higher education institution's building were hit.

One person with a blast injury and an acoustic injury sought medical assistance. Units of the State Emergency Service (SES) and law enforcement agencies continue to work at the scene to mitigate the consequences and conduct procedural actions.

### Status of the Facility and Positions of the Parties

Information regarding the functional purpose of the struck facility varies across different sources. The official position of the city administration characterizes the building as administrative. At the same time, monitoring channels and data from social media suggest that structures of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC) may have been located in the premises.

Previously, media reports mentioned that the prosecutor's office was also located in this complex of premises. However, official comments from relevant ministries and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine regarding the current status of the building have not yet been received.

Under the current martial law, the dissemination of information regarding the location and operation of infrastructure facilities is regulated by the norms of Ukraine's national security and relevant legislation.
