# UBTECH Unveils UWORLD U1 Companion Robots: Emotions, Memory, and Pricing Starting at 120,000 Yuan

Chinese company UBTECH has officially unveiled a new line of humanoid robots, the UWORLD U1 Series. This is the world's first series of full-sized androids designed not for physical labor, but for mass use as emotional companions. The presentation took place against the backdrop of major shifts in robotics approaches, where psychological support and social interaction are taking center stage.

### Technologies Imitating Humans

The main feature of the UWORLD U1 series is the ability for deep emotional interaction. The robots operate on an integrated technology stack developed by UBTECH, combining embodied AI, proprietary operating systems, and biomimetic artificial skin.

Visually and functionally, the androids are as close to humans as possible. Thanks to a specially designed cervical spine and 88 degrees of freedom, the robots can accurately reproduce about 90% of the basic movements of the human body. This allows them not just to stand still, but to behave naturally in space.

### Emotional Intelligence and Memory

A key advantage of the UWORLD U1 is its advanced emotion recognition system. The built-in AI model can identify more than 20 human emotional states with 90% accuracy. This allows the robot to adapt its behavior to the owner's mood.

An important aspect is the long-term memory function. The system records and remembers previous conversations and individual interactions. Developers claim this allows for the establishment of stable long-term relationships with the owner, making communication deeper and more personalized.

Communication happens naturally: robots analyze the surrounding environment and independently determine the appropriate moment for dialogue, without requiring the user to use specific activation words (wake words).

### Privacy and Data Security

Privacy issues are addressed through a three-tier security architecture. The manufacturer has emphasized local data processing directly on the device. This significantly reduces dependence on cloud storage and minimizes the risk of personal data leaks.

### Models and Cost

The UWORLD U1 line of consumer humanoid robots is aimed at the premium market segment and includes three modifications. A male version standing 183 cm and a female version standing 168 cm are available. The cost of the devices starts at 119,800 yuan (approximately 790,000 hryvnias at the mid-July exchange rate).

### Social Mission and the Future of Robotics

UBTECH Founder and CEO James Zhou describes the development of robotics in three stages: from replacing humans in hazardous production (where their industrial Walker S series is already used) to integrating robots into daily life and the final seamless coexistence of man and machine.

Considering global issues such as an aging population, loneliness, and mental challenges, the company has launched the Human-Robot Companionship Initiative. Starting this year, UBTECH will annually donate 100 specially configured androids free of charge to vulnerable groups: lonely elderly people, children separated from their parents, and families in difficult life circumstances.

Social versions of the robots will support 3D face reconstruction, voice cloning of loved ones, and personalized memory for maximum psychological comfort for users.
