In Lviv, another meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish working group concluded, focusing on the search, exhumation, and dignified burial of victims of historical events. The meeting marked an important stage in implementing bilateral cooperation: the parties summarized previous agreements and defined new directions for work.

### Transfer of New Locations for Research

A key outcome of the negotiations was that the Polish side handed over to Ukraine a list of new locations where search and exhumation work is planned. This was reported by Ivan Verbytskyi, the First Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine. According to him, some applications have already been submitted, while the remaining documents will be sent in the near future.

The parties also discussed practical aspects of organizing work on the territories of both countries. Special attention was paid to the coordination of actions and procedures for implementing projects that had been agreed upon earlier.

### Fulfillment of Obligations and Current Status

Participants of the meeting analyzed the implementation of decisions made at the previous meeting in Warsaw on December 16. It was noted that the Ukrainian side had fully processed all necessary permits and ensured the conduct of work on the objects for which agreements had previously been reached.

Currently, active exhumation work continues in the villages of Ostrovky and Wola Ostrowiecka. These locations have become priorities within the current stage of cooperation.

### Plans for Next Year: Huta-Peniacka

According to information announced at the meeting, the next major research object could be Huta-Peniacka. Work there is preliminarily expected to take place next year. This decision is linked to the fact that in June, a burial site of people requiring detailed study was discovered in this area.

Recall that the active phase of joint work began in the autumn of 2025, when Ukrainian specialists started search and exhumation work on the territory of Poland. The first research object was a forest area near the village of Jurczkowa in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. Since then, the process has been systematized, and now the parties are acting according to a clear schedule agreed upon within the working group.
