## 🎯 Key Points

- The coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team announced a squad of 23 players for the match against Hungary
- As many as seven regular players will not be able to participate in the game due to injuries and other reasons
- Only one nominal left-back, Oleksandr Drambayev, remains in the team
- The team will miss Danylo Sikan, the author of the only goal in the current Nations League campaign

The national teams of Ukraine and Hungary have finally determined their official squads for the upcoming head-to-head match. The coaching staff of the Ukrainian national team, led by Andrea Maldera, has formed a list of 23 players whom he can rely on in this crucial encounter. At the same time, as many as seven key players will not be able to help the Blue and Yellows in the upcoming UEFA Nations League game due to various reasons.

### Attack Line and New Faces in the National Team

Andrea Maldera will have four pure strikers at his disposal for this match: Roman Yaremchuk, Matviy Ponomarenko, Vladyslav Vanat, and Ihor Krasnopir have earned the chance to prove themselves at the international level. In addition, the attention of experts and fans was drawn to the inclusion of bright national team debutants in the official squad — Ivan Varfolomeyev, Maksym Khlan, and Oleksandr Drambayev, who could make their first appearances in official matches for the country's main team.

### Personnel Losses and Problem Positions

A significant downside is the personnel problems: as many as seven key players remained outside the matchday squad. Among them are Vitaliy Mykolenko, Bohdan Mykhaylichenko, Mykola Matviyenko, Heorhiy Sudakov, Mykola Shaparenko, Oleksandr Zubkov, and Danylo Sikan. Because of these losses, the coaching staff is left with only one nominal left-back in the person of Oleksandr Drambayev, while the midfield has lost key creators like Sudakov and Shaparenko.

### Controversial Data

Certain discrepancies have arisen in the information field regarding the exact list of injured players and the reasons for the absence of certain players depending on the sources. While some sports publications focus exclusively on the tactical decisions of the coaching staff and minor injuries, other sources explicitly state a serious epidemiological or traumatic factor that affected several Premier League clubs that delegated players to the national team. Nevertheless, the final list of 23 football players submitted to the official protocols remains unchanged and confirmed by the coaching staff.

### Consequences and Match Prospects

The loss of Danylo Sikan, who is the author of Ukraine's only goal in the current Nations League campaign (his winning shot brought the Ukrainians historic three points in the 1st round match against the same Hungarians), will be a severe test for the team's attacking potential. Maldera will have to look for non-standard tactical solutions under conditions of severe personnel shortages to maintain chances for a positive result.
