The Ukrainian government is shifting to an emergency response mode in reaction to the escalation of aggression from Russia. Prime Minister Serhiy Kortsyk has announced emergency meetings with leaders of the business community, scheduled for August 5. The main goal is to develop new effective mechanisms to allow the economy to function under unprecedented pressure.

### Scaling of Attacks and Strike on Infrastructure

The reason for the government's urgent intervention was a massive attack launched on the night of August 5. According to the Prime Minister, the enemy used an unprecedented number of strike assets: 28 missiles and 115 drones. As a result of the shelling, 17 people were killed, and another 44 civilians were injured. Among the victims were residents of Kyiv and the Brovary district.

Special attention in Serhiy Kortsyk's statement was paid to the nature of the strikes. Russia is deliberately attacking not only military targets but also civilian infrastructure vital to the economy. Residential buildings, shopping centers, warehouses, and logistics complexes have been hit.

### Business in the Crosshairs: A New Reality

The head of the government emphasized that the scale of terror is increasing and is now spreading to businesses serving millions of people. "There is no military objective in these attacks — this is terrorism," Kortsyk stated. Damage has been inflicted on Ukrainian enterprises and production facilities, creating a threat to the continuity of operations for logistics companies and trading enterprises.

Significant resources have been mobilized to eliminate the consequences of the attack: 410 rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES) and more than 100 units of special equipment. The Ministry of Economy has already received relevant instructions from the Prime Minister to organize interaction with entrepreneurs.

### Government Action Plan

In conditions where air defense forces were unable to completely stop enemy ballistics and missiles, the government is seeking ways to adapt the economy. The meetings scheduled for August 5 aim to find solutions that will allow businesses to survive and continue operations despite the destruction and threats.

The situation is complicated by the fact that key logistics and trade hubs have been hit. The Prime Minister expressed sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and called for a consolidation of efforts to overcome the consequences of the new wave of aggression.
