## 🎯 Key Points

- Ukraine U-21 defeated Croatia 1:0 in the Euro 2027 qualifiers
- The only goal in the 9th minute was scored by forward Oleksandr Pyshchur
- Ukraine failed to reach the youth European Championship for the first time in six years
- The team finished third in the group and will play a friendly against Albania on October 5

Ukraine's youth national team has concluded its qualifying campaign for the 2027 European Championship with a victory over the Croatian team. The final round qualifying match took place in the Hungarian city of Miskolc at the DVTK stadium, serving as the final chord of the current campaign for Dmytro Mykhailenko's squad.

### Match Progress and Pyshchur's Early Goal

The Ukrainian team managed to open the scoring quickly in the encounter. As early as the ninth minute, forward Oleksandr Pyshchur successfully responded to a cross from Denys Hryshkevych from the right flank and struck precisely into the opponent's net. Throughout the remainder of the match, both sides had numerous opportunities to change the scoreline, but failed to capitalize on them.

Specifically, in the first half, Pyshchur had a chance to score a brace, but lost a duel against the Croatia goalkeeper. The Croatians responded with a dangerous moment by Segečič. After the break, the game became even more dynamic: Hryshkevych hit the crossbar, and Ukrainian goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapivtsov repeatedly saved his team from conceded goals.

### Qualifying Results and Tournament Disappointment

Despite the final 1:0 victory, Ukraine's youth team failed to qualify for the continental championship for the first time in six years. The team prematurely lost all chances of advancing from the group after previously drawing 2:2 with Turkey. As a result, the "blue-and-yellows" finished the qualifying cycle in third place in the standings.

### Contradictory Data

Certain discrepancies have emerged in the sports media space regarding the coverage of the team's tournament path and the results of individual matches in the qualification campaign. Some specialized sports publications focus on the team's missed opportunities in previous rounds, while other sources emphasize positive developments in the tactical setups of the coaching staff led by Dmytro Mykhailenko and the progress of young players.

### Upcoming Team Plans

Despite the conclusion of the official qualification, the Ukrainian youth team is not taking a long break. As early as this coming Monday, October 5, 2026, the team will play another friendly match against the Albania national team, which will allow the coaching staff to test new tactical schemes and evaluate reserves ahead of future official tournaments.
