Ukraine has managed to find additional air defense systems and missiles from a number of partners. This was announced by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgiy Tikhyy, during a briefing, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.

### New solutions for air defense

According to Tikhyy, every meeting with partners begins with promoting the decisions reached by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as searching for the necessary resources. During Zelenskyy's visit to the United Kingdom, new agreements on air defense were reached, which now need to be implemented as quickly as possible.

"Ukraine has managed to find a number of additional means — both systems and interceptors — thanks to cooperation with a number of countries," noted the MFA spokesperson. At the same time, he emphasized that financial resources are required to purchase these means, and Ukraine is actively working on finding them.

"When we finalize, we hope that there will be an opportunity to quickly deliver these means — both systems and interceptors," added Tikhyy.

### Missiles nearing expiration

Particular attention was paid to interceptor missiles whose shelf life is coming to an end. "We are currently holding active negotiations to obtain them. After the expiration date, they will be returned to the manufacturer or disposed of, and we propose transferring them to Ukraine," explained the MFA spokesperson.

### Ammunition shortage and threat to the population

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, stated there was an acute shortage of missiles for Patriot, NASAMS, and IRIS-T systems. According to him, ammunition stocks in certain units are almost exhausted, and Ukraine needs new supplies from partners.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the existence of a political agreement to acquire additional Patriot systems, however, the implementation of the agreement is being delayed due to financial, legal, and technical issues.

On May 27, Zelenskyy sent an urgent letter to US President Donald Trump and Congress, pointing to a critical shortage of air defense systems against the backdrop of intensified Russian shelling. In his address, the head of state emphasized that the lack of air defense means creates a serious threat to the civilian population, as Ukraine does not have sufficient capabilities to intercept ballistic missiles.

### NATO position and production prospects

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that PAC-2 and PAC-3 interceptor missiles remain one of the key elements of protecting Ukraine from Russian air attacks. According to him, supplies of these munitions from the US continue on an ongoing basis.

At the same time, Ukraine is striving for joint production of Patriot systems with partners. A separate area of work has become negotiations with the US to obtain a license to produce these systems.
