The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plans a significant expansion of its diplomatic presence in Europe. An official representation of the Ukrainian parliament at the European Parliament will soon be opened in Brussels. The initiative, announced by Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk, aims to mirror the activities of the European Parliament's representation in Kyiv and take parliamentary cooperation to a new level.

### A New Stage of European Integration

Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized that the opening of the representation will become a key tool in supporting Ukraine's accession process to the European Union. According to the head of the Verkhovna Rada, many strategically important decisions supported by Europe originated from initiatives by deputies in Strasbourg and Brussels. Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to the Members of the European Parliament for their unwavering support and noted the fruitful cooperation with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

The Speaker paid special attention to strengthening ties with the countries of Northern Europe and the Baltics. Plans include visits to Reykjavik and Helsinki, as well as active participation in the parliamentary dimension of the G7. Ukraine will participate for the fifth time in the G7 Speakers' Summit, which will take place in Paris from September 10 to 12.

### Diplomatic Mission: Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia

Advancing the negotiation process for EU accession is named as a critically important direction. To achieve this, it is necessary to strengthen contacts with the parliaments of member states that will in the future ratify the decision on Ukraine's membership. Stefanchuk announced a series of official visits by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to countries from which further progress towards membership depends: Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia. These will be the first such trips in many years.

### The Security Issue for Ukrainians in Poland

Separate emphasis was placed on relations with Poland. Despite constant dialogue with the Polish Sejm and Senate, the situation in the country causes concern. Recently, attacks on Ukrainian citizens have increased. Thus, in Kożuchów, unknown individuals attacked three Ukrainians resting by their car. Another incident occurred on July 27 in Wrocław, where a Ukrainian woman and her boyfriend were brutally beaten. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has already sent official requests to the Polish police.

Ruslan Stefanchuk called on diplomats to work on eliminating obstacles on the path to European integration and to respond firmly to threats to the security of citizens. "No one has the right to abuse Ukrainian citizens, and this is our task," the Speaker stated, emphasizing the need to protect the rights of Ukrainians abroad.
