The amount of funds received totals 3.47 billion euros. The money has already been credited to the state budget accounts and will be used to support the country's defense capabilities and cover urgent state needs. ### Financing details and the Prime Minister's words The information regarding the receipt of funds was confirmed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Kretsky. According to him, this payment is part of the work of the European Ukraine Support Loan mechanism. Kretsky emphasized that these resources are critically important for the current moment and will be directed towards strengthening defense. The Prime Minister also announced large figures concerning the total support program for the current year. In 2026, within the framework of the Ukraine Support Loan mechanism, financing for Ukraine is planned at 45 billion euros. To date, the country has already attracted 11.6 billion euros from this volume. ### Context of interaction with the IMF The receipt of funds from the EU is taking place against the backdrop of Ukraine's active work with the International Monetary Fund. Earlier, on July 21, the IMF Executive Board approved the first review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. As part of this decision, Ukraine's state budget was replenished by $690 million. The total amount of funds received under the EFF program reached $2.2 billion. At the end of July, it became known that the terms of cooperation with the Fund were being adjusted. The IMF softened some requirements, but simultaneously tightened the criteria for conducting reforms. In particular, the fund insists on the necessity of increasing tariffs for the population, introducing taxation on parcels, as well as applying VAT to certain entrepreneurs.
