# Ukraine receives second IMF tranche: $690 million enters the budget

On July 23, Ukraine received a second tranche of financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The amount of funds received amounts to approximately $690 million. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Kretsky in his Telegram channel.

According to the head of the government, the funds have already been credited to the state budget accounts. Kretsky emphasized that these funds will be used to maintain macroeconomic stability in the country, as well as to cover priority expenditures.

### Deal chronology

The decision to allocate this tranche was made by the IMF Executive Board on July 21. Earlier, on July 20, Serhiy Kretsky announced the imminent decision of the fund, noting that it was expected on Monday. This statement came after negotiations between the Prime Minister and the First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, Dan Katz.

Financing is being carried out within the framework of a new four-year cooperation program. In June 2026, Ukraine and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement on the first review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. The total volume of this program is $8.1 billion.

Cooperation with the International Monetary Fund remains one of the key tools for ensuring Ukraine's financial stability under current conditions.
