# Ukraine receives seventh tranche from the EU: €2.6 billion and a new methodology for calculating early reforms

Ukraine has received another financial tranche from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program. This is the seventh payment under the four-year agreement. The nominal size of the tranche was €2.8 billion, but the actual amount received by the country is €2.6 billion. The difference is due to the deduction of a previously provided advance.

### How the funds will be used

First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko confirmed the receipt of funds and outlined plans for their use. The financing will be directed to cover priority expenditures of the state budget. Primarily, the funds will go to social and humanitarian needs, which is critical for maintaining stability under current conditions.

### Conditions for receipt and met indicators

The allocation of the tranche became possible thanks to the successful fulfillment of 11 mandatory indicators of the Plan for Ukraine by the Ukrainian side. These indicators cover a wide range of reforms: from public administration and energy to digitalization, economic policy, and strengthening the rule of law.

Special attention in this reporting period is paid to the pace of reforms. Some tasks planned for future periods were implemented ahead of schedule. Thanks to the updated methodology of the European Commission, Ukraine has received additional financial compensation for exceeding the schedule for the first time. This creates a new incentive for the accelerated fulfillment of obligations to partners.

### Total funding volume and reform status

Taking into account the current tranche, the total amount of funds allocated to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program exceeded €29.4 billion. The total budget of the program, calculated for the period from 2024 to 2027, is fixed at €50 billion.

As of the end of May, the Government of Ukraine has successfully implemented 86 planned activities. Another 65 tasks are at various stages of implementation. The implementation of these plans is aimed at maintaining macro-financial stability and further integration of the country into the structures of the European Union.
