# One application instead of bureaucracy: Ukraine simplifies compensation for frontline businesses

Amidst ongoing hostilities, the Ukrainian government has decided to significantly simplify the procedure for obtaining financial assistance for businesses operating in frontline regions. The key change is the ability to file for compensation for damaged or destroyed property through a single application, sparing entrepreneurs from long waits and excessive bureaucracy.

### New procedure: from registry to application

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, previously, to receive payments for the loss of production equipment and engineering networks, enterprises had to wait for their data to be entered into the State Register of Property Damaged as a Result of Hostilities. This stage often delayed the process of receiving aid.

Now, the requirement for preliminary entry of information into the registry has been abolished. Businesses only need to submit one application covering all damaged property. This decision aims to accelerate the recovery of enterprises and support the economy in risk zones.

### Deadlines and program conditions

Alongside the simplification of procedures, the government has extended the deadline for submitting applications for insurance premium compensation. The new deadline is set for August 1, 2026. This change concerns program participants who have already insured their property this year but have not yet registered for the compensation system.

Requirements for insured property and the calculation procedure for payments have also been clarified. According to the head of the government, the basic compensation amounts to 3 million hryvnias per year.

### Statistics and results

The compensation program for business war risks, implemented by JSC "Export Credit Agency" (ECA), launched on January 1, 2026. Since the beginning of the year, the government has already approved 139 applications from frontline enterprises for compensation for damaged property.

In addition, businesses have submitted 63 applications to participate in the insurance premium compensation program. A significant step in the development of the program was taken in March 2026, when the maximum compensation amount for destroyed property in frontline regions was increased from 10 to 30 million hryvnias. Simultaneously, the norm reducing payments by the amount of previously received grants was abolished.

### Importance of support for regions

Yulia Sviridenko emphasized that entrepreneurs in frontline territories deserve special attention. According to her, they not only sustain the economy of these regions but also create conditions for the normal life and work of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians living in close proximity to the front line.
