# Large-scale attack on the rear: Ukraine strikes oil refineries in Tatarstan and a chemical plant in Tolyatti

In the night of June 12, the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out a large-scale operation to strike critical infrastructure and military objects on the territory of the Russian Federation. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, strikes were delivered against strategically important industrial giants in Tatarstan and the Samara region, as well as a number of logistics hubs and command posts in frontline regions.

### Strike on the energy sector of Tatarstan

The main blow fell on the oil refining industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Damage to two of the largest enterprises in Nizhnekamsk has been confirmed — the "TANECO" and "TAIF-NK" refineries. Fires broke out on the territories of both plants, indicating direct hits on technological zones.

The "TANECO" refinery is one of the key players in the industry in the Russian Federation with a design processing capacity of more than 16 million tons of oil per year. The enterprise supplies the market with diesel and aviation fuel, as well as other types of fuel and lubricants. Its shutdown or damage deals a significant blow to logistics and energy.

The second target was the "TAIF-NK" complex, specializing in the deep processing of heavy high-sulfur oil. The depth of processing at this enterprise reaches more than 95%. The plant's products, including specific raw materials, are used not only in the civilian sector but also for military needs.

### Strike on the chemical plant in Tolyatti

Significant resonance was caused by the strike on the "Tolyattikauchuk" plant in the Samara region. A fire was also confirmed on the territory of the enterprise. This production is of critical importance for the defense industry, as it produces synthetic rubbers necessary for the production of solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles.

In Tolyatti, Ukrainian drones are acting systematically. Previously, in the night of April 4, large-scale fires had already occurred at chemical plants in the city. In connection with the attack on June 12, a drone danger regime was introduced in the Samara region, and the airspace over the region was closed.

### Confirmation of the strike on the Kuibyshev Refinery

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also clarified the details of the strike on the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in the Samara region, which was attacked on June 10. Hits on primary oil processing units (AVT-4 and AVT-5) and tank RVS-2000 were confirmed. As a result of the attack, the plant completely stopped its work.

### Strikes on military objects at the front

In addition to deep raids on rear infrastructure, Ukrainian units struck military objects in border and occupied regions:

    - **Kursk region:** Command and observation posts were damaged in the areas of Obesti and Iskra.

    - **Kherson region:** A command post was destroyed in the area of Marinsky.

    - **Donetsk region:** Strikes were delivered against control points in the areas of Voskresenka and Pokrovsk, as well as a communications hub in the area of Veseloye. The enemy's logistics warehouse in Mariupol was also damaged.

    - **Zaporizhzhia region:** An area of personnel concentration was destroyed at the "Vostochny" training ground in the area of Novopetrovka.

    - **Luhansk region:** A field artillery warehouse was damaged in the area of Rybyantsevo.

These attacks demonstrate the ability of the Defense Forces of Ukraine to simultaneously conduct hostilities on the front line and deliver targeted strikes against strategic objects deep inside the enemy's territory, paralyzing the work of important industrial and military centers.
