The Ukrainian U-20 national basketball team has achieved a historic breakthrough, winning the gold medal at the EuroBasket Division B. In the final match, the Ukrainians secured a convincing victory over Iceland with a score of 74:64. The main hero of the decisive game was the national team captain, Yehor Sushkin, who led his teammates to the podium.

### Final Match Progress

The Ukrainian team demonstrated character and skill from the very first minutes, confidently winning the first quarter with a score of 18:13. In the second quarter, the opponents from Iceland managed to make the fight tough, but the Ukrainians went into the halftime break as leaders, leading 34:27.

The third quarter was the most intense: the Icelandic team exerted strong pressure and brought the intrigue back into the duel, narrowing the gap. Before the final segment, the score was 50:46 in favor of the guests. However, at the decisive moment, the Ukrainian team rallied and delivered a powerful fourth quarter, which allowed them to secure the victory.

In the final, the Ukrainians demonstrated excellent teamwork. The top scorer was Yehor Sushkin, who scored 26 points and made 6 rebounds. Mykhailo Hryshchuk also made a significant contribution to the victory, recording a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Other players from the starting five also showed strong statistics:

In the group stage, the Ukrainians defeated the national teams of Georgia (77:64), Estonia (87:81), Switzerland (74:72), and Luxembourg (80:65). In the playoffs, the team confidently passed Ireland in the quarterfinals (72:62) and Portugal in the semifinals (81:61).

Thanks to this triumph, the Ukrainian U-20 basketball team has earned the right to compete in the elite Division A next season.
