Ukrainian border guards have recorded unprecedented figures in the fight against aerial threats. During June, units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGSU) intercepted the flight of more than 8,000 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Among the downed targets were hundreds of strike units posing the greatest danger to civilian infrastructure.

These figures were announced in the official Telegram channel of the agency and confirmed by the RBC-Ukraine publication. The Border Guard Service, being an integral part of the country's defense forces, continues to effectively repel air attacks using a wide arsenal of countermeasures.

### Comprehensive approach to interception

To neutralize enemy aerial targets, SBGSU fighters use a combined tactics. The border guards' arsenal includes not only modern air defense (AD) systems, but also small arms, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and the latest interceptor drones.

Such a multi-level approach allows for the effective destruction of targets at different stages of their flight. As emphasized by the agency, the mass destruction of enemy drones is the result of the coordinated work of units and the use of advanced technologies.

### Statistics of enemy losses

In the structure of the 8,000 drones shot down in June, a significant proportion of strike aircraft stands out. The SBGSU clarified that it managed to neutralize about 900 drones of the 'Shahed' and 'Gerber' types. These models, known for their ability to strike critically important objects, form the basis of the aerial threat from Russian forces.

The Russian side continues to increase the intensity of attacks. The enemy's strategy is to combine missile strikes with massive raids of various types of drones, which are launched almost every night.

### Chronology of recent attacks

The scale of the threat is confirmed by recent events. On the night of July 4, the occupiers launched a powerful attack that included the launch of an 'Iskander-M' ballistic missile from Crimea and an X-59/69 air-to-surface missile from the Black Sea. Accompanied by missiles, a salvo of 86 strike drones was launched.

Among the aerial targets, reactive 'Shaheds', 'Gerber' and 'Italmas' type devices, and 'Parody' imitation drones were recorded. Air defense forces managed to destroy the overwhelming majority of these targets.

A similar situation was observed the day before, on July 3. Then the invaders struck with two air-to-surface missiles and 105 strike UAVs. Air defense systems neutralized 83 of them. Despite the high effectiveness of interception, debris falls and individual drone hits were recorded in several regions.
