On the night of August 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a large-scale series of strikes deep into the Russian army's rear. The targets of the attacks were critically important facilities of the military-industrial complex, logistics hubs, and strategic aviation bases. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian drones successfully hit several key points in the Saratov, Kaluga, and Bryansk regions.

### Strike on Strategic Aviation and Fuel Infrastructure

One of the main events of the night was the strike on the "Engels" airfield in the Saratov region. This is one of the key bases of the Russian strategic aviation, where heavy Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers are stationed. It is from this airfield that missiles regularly launched at Ukrainian territory are deployed. The Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded a hit on the facility and a subsequent fire on the airfield grounds.

In the same region, the Saratov Oil Refinery was attacked. The enterprise is one of the largest in the Volga region with an annual refining capacity of about 7 million tons of oil. The plant plays an important role in supplying fuel to both the civilian sector and the needs of the Russian armed forces. As a result of the strike, a fire also broke out on the factory grounds.

The enemy's logistics chain was also damaged in the Kaluga region. The "Lyudinovskaya" oil depot in the city of Lyudinovo was hit. The facility is used for storing and subsequently shipping fuel and lubricants necessary for the functioning of the Russian military machine.

### Destroying Infrastructure for Drones and Logistics

Ukraine continues to attack nodes that support the operation of the Russian drone industry. In the Nalivka area (Bryansk region), a storage, preparation, and launch point for combat unmanned aerial vehicles was destroyed. In addition, on the eve, on August 1, drone control points in the Kursk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions were hit.

Special attention is also paid to civilian logistics supporting the aggressor's economy. On the night of August 2, drones attacked the logistics center of the Wildberries marketplace in the Samara region. This is a key sorting and distribution hub ensuring the operation of major retail chains. A fire was also recorded at the Saratov airport.
