# Unlimited Transfers: New QR Ticket Launches in Kyiv from August 1

Starting August 1, public transport passengers in Kyiv will have access to a new type of travel document. The City Council has announced the introduction of a transfer QR ticket, which fundamentally changes the payment rules for trips in the capital.

### How the new system works

The main advantage of the new ticket is the ability to make an unlimited number of transfers between various types of urban transport. The system operates on a time-window principle: a passenger has the right to free transfers within 90 minutes after the first ticket validation.

It is important to follow the payment confirmation procedure. Every time you change transport or enter a metro station, the QR ticket must be re-validated. Inspectors will see the full history of validations for the last 90 minutes during checks, so no additional payment confirmations are required from the passenger — simply showing the smartphone screen is enough.

### Where to buy and limitations

The new travel pass can be purchased in two ways: via the "Kyiv Digital" mobile app or at special terminals. In the app, select the "Buy QR" section, the "Urban Transport" category, and the "Transfer" ticket type.

The innovation has an important limitation: the transfer QR ticket is personal and cannot be transferred to another user. This is due to the technical specifics of the system, which tracks multiple transfers by a single individual.

### Cost and context of changes

The launch of the new ticket format does not change the current tariffs for standard QR travel passes. Discounts for trips remain in effect for categories of citizens who previously had the right to them.

The introduction of the transfer ticket comes against the backdrop of other changes in Kyiv's transport sector. It was previously reported that from July 15, 2026, the cost of a single ride in the city's municipal transport will rise to 30 hryvnias. Additionally, from July 22, tariffs for the Kyiv City Express service were doubled.
