For eight years, he held the position of the theater's chief choirmaster, leaving a deep mark on its history. The artist announced his decision on Facebook, where he published a touching post addressed to his colleagues and the theater's management. Yatsenko thanked the General Director and Artistic Director of the Lviv National Opera, Vasyl Vovkun. According to the conductor, this stage was a true school of life and art for him. ### 'School of Life' and Personal Contribution In his farewell address, Yatsenko emphasized the importance of the mentorship he received within the theater walls. 'I will never stop thanking Vasyl for the fact that everything started with him. For what I now know and can do. And for the great joy and honor of calling him my friend,' the musician wrote. He expressed special warm feelings regarding his workplace. The conductor nostalgically recalled his 'trendiest' office, decorated with posters of rock groups and football players, as well as a legendary phrase by the band 'Kurgan i Agregat' at the exit. He bought a sofa for 700 hryvnias so that people arriving in Lviv in the first days of the conflict would have a place to sleep. ### New Horizon: The Hryhorii Verevka Choir Leaving the opera was not a full stop for Vadym Yatsenko, but a comma. Immediately after finishing his work in Lviv, he headed the National Merited Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir named after Hryhorii Verevka. This was announced on the collective's official Facebook page. The new director sees ambitious tasks ahead. 'For me, this is the leading musical ensemble of the country with a unique level of recognition and artistic authority,' noted Yatsenko.
