## 🎯 Key Points

- Vinicius Junior suspended for 4 La Liga matches.
- The punishment followed a foul on Nathan Saliba and arguing with the referee.
- The player will miss league matches but can play in the Champions League.
- Real Madrid is six points behind league leaders Barcelona.

Real Madrid has suffered a major personnel blow in the middle of the first half of the current season. One of the main attacking leaders of the Madrid club, star Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior, has received a severe disciplinary penalty in the form of a long disqualification for a scandalous incident in a Spanish championship match.

### Essence of the Incident and Official RFEF Decision

The official verdict on sanctions was issued by the RFEF Competition Committee after a detailed and impartial review of the episode involving the Brazilian's direct red card. The incident occurred in a tense home match of the 8th round of La Liga against Villarreal, which ended in a narrow 1:0 victory for Los Blancos, overshadowed by this scandal.

The total duration of the player's disqualification was four matches in the domestic calendar. Of these, the footballer received two matches directly for a rough foul when he grabbed opponent Nathan Saliba by the hair. Another two matches of sanctions were added on top for aggressive and unsportsmanlike protests directed at the main referee after he cancelled a goal following a VAR video review.

### Tournament Consequences and Missed Match Calendar

Such a serious loss of a key player puts the Real Madrid coaching staff in an extremely difficult position on the domestic front. Due to serving the suspension, Vinicius Junior's return to the Spanish La Liga pitches is now expected only on November 22, when the Madrid team will play an away match against Celta.

At the same time, it is important to note a crucial detail: the disciplinary punishment applies exclusively to Spanish league matches. This means the Brazilian winger will be able to help his team without hindrance in parallel UEFA Champions League matches, where Real continues its fight for the prestigious trophy.

### Sports Form and Real Madrid's Standings

In the current official season, Vinicius has managed to play nine matches for Los Blancos in all tournaments, scoring one goal and providing three assists during this time. Currently, the Madrid grandee occupies only the fourth line in the Spanish championship standings, six points behind the principled rival and league leader Barcelona.
