# Vinnytsia prepares for a major tariff reform: passes will become more cost-effective than single trips

Residents and guests of Vinnytsia have received an official notification regarding upcoming changes to the pricing policy in public transport. The Executive Committee of the Vinnytsia City Council has approved new tariffs, which will come into force on August 1, 2026. The decision was made following a thorough analysis of calculations provided by the municipal enterprise "Vinnytsia Transport Company".

### New cost of a single trip

The key change will be an increase in the price of a single trip. Now, a ride on a bus, trolleybus, or tram will cost 25 hryvnias. The City Council emphasizes that setting new tariffs is necessary to ensure the stable operation of the city's transport system.

However, the authorities offer an alternative for those who travel around the city daily. The price difference between paying for a single trip and using a travel pass will be significant.

### Benefits for regular passengers

For holders of travel passes, the cost of a single trip will remain below market rates, ranging from 11 to 17 hryvnias depending on the card type. This makes purchasing a subscription the most cost-effective payment method for regular transport users.

Starting August 1, the following tariffs for personalized travel passes will be in effect in the city:

- "Municipal Card of a Vinnytsian" for 130 trips (valid for 30 days from the date of purchase).

- Card for 80 trips (valid for 30 calendar days).

- An unlimited travel pass for 30 calendar days will cost 2,250 hryvnias.

Passengers will also have the option to purchase non-personalized cards, expanding the choice for all categories of citizens.

### Preservation of benefits and bonuses

The Vinnytsia City Council has assured that it will continue to finance the transport of preferential categories of citizens. Statistics show that in 2025, the public transport of the Vinnytsia community carried more than 46.8 million passengers. Of this total flow, more than 15.5 million trips were made by beneficiaries.

Owners of the "Municipal Card of a Vinnytsian" will retain the right to a free transfer within 30 minutes. This is an important condition that makes using the card even more attractive for city residents.

### Context of changes

Vinnytsia's decision to raise tariffs fits into a general trend. Earlier, starting July 15, the cost of travel in municipal transport and marshrutkas increased in Kyiv. Later, it was reported that tickets for the capital's Kyiv City Express train also became more expensive. At the same time, Kyiv is discussing issues of optimizing the route network and reducing the amount of municipal transport.
