The night of July 6 became a time of severe trials for Vishneve in the Kyiv region. As a result of a massive Russian attack, powerful explosions rocked the city, followed by a secondary detonation. The consequences of the strike were catastrophic: five streets were destroyed, and part of the population was forced to leave their homes as part of an emergency evacuation.

### The facility is not under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

One of the central questions arising after the tragedy was the nature of the facility where the explosion occurred. Dmitry Lykhovyi, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, gave an unequivocal answer in a comment to RBC-Ukraine: the facility that became the epicenter of the explosions does not fall under the sphere of management and is not subordinate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The facility where the explosions occurred in Vishneve, Kyiv region, does not fall under the sphere of management and is not subordinate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Lykhovyi emphasized.

### Prohibition on placing warehouses near residents

Despite the fact that the facility was not controlled by the military, the General Staff spokesperson reminded of the existing order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The document strictly prohibits the placement of ammunition depots and similar facilities in the immediate vicinity of civilian housing and places of residence of civilians.

This ban, according to Lykhovyi, remains in force, which underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need to investigate the reasons why a dangerous facility ended up near residential quarters.

### Environmental threat and leadership response

In addition to the physical destruction of infrastructure, the attack led to a serious environmental threat. A dangerous level of air pollution was recorded in Vishneve, creating additional health risks for the people remaining in the city and complicating the work of rescuers.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, reacting to the scale of the tragedy, gave a clear instruction to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and intelligence agencies. They are to ascertain all the circumstances of the explosions to understand exactly how the security failure occurred and who is responsible for placing a dangerous facility in a residential zone.

### Consequences for the population

The Armed Forces of Ukraine expressed sympathy for the civilians affected by the Russian attack. The destruction of five streets and the need for evacuation indicate that the city's recovery will take a significant amount of time, and the lives of thousands of people will be disrupted for many months.

The situation in Vishneve remains tense. While investigations and cleanup operations are underway, the city's residents are forced to live in conditions of uncertainty, waiting for answers to key questions about the causes of the tragedy and measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
