# Thunderstorms will give way to anomalous heat: meteorologist warns of a sharp temperature spike in Ukraine

The weather in Ukraine in the last days of July is preparing a real surprise for residents: from local showers and thunderstorms to stable summer heat. Ivan Semylit, a meteorologist from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, warned in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that the atmospheric situation will change rapidly.

### A week of changeable weather

Over the next three days, the country will be under the influence of an unstable moist air mass. This will lead to the possibility of short-term rains and thunderstorms across the entire territory. However, meteorologists note that precipitation will be local and shift geographically:

- On July 26, thunderstorm fronts are expected in the far east.

- On July 27, precipitation will shift to the western regions during the day.

- On July 28, short-term rains with thunderstorms are possible in most regions.

Despite the precipitation, air temperatures are already trending upwards. At night, thermometers will show from +10 to +18°C, and during the day — from +20 to +27°C. Already on July 26 in Zakarpattia and on July 27 across the country (except the west), the air will warm up to +25...+30°C.

### Approaching anticyclone

The main event of the end of the week will be the change of atmospheric front. Meteorologists forecast that as early as next Wednesday, July 28, a high-pressure field will begin to spread over the territory of Ukraine. This will lead to weather stabilization and a sharp rise in temperatures in the east and southeast: up to +22°C at night, and up to +32°C during the day.

### Heatwave from the west

The period is expected to be particularly hot from July 30 to August 3. During these days, an anticyclonic weather pattern will be established over the country: more sun, less cloudiness, and intense heating of the surface layer.

According to the forecast, the center of the anticyclone will be concentrated over the western regions. It is there that the first wave of heat will arrive, moving from west to east. Due to the lack of cloudiness and active sun, temperatures may rise to +34°C in some places.

### Long-term forecast

The anticyclone currently forming over Europe will begin moving towards Ukraine around July 28. It will bring heated air, which is additionally warmed over the territory of the western regions. Meteorologists are confident that this warm weather will last at least until August 3.

What happens next remains to be seen: the anticyclone may begin to "break down," giving way to new cyclones from the north. However, for the coming days, residents should prepare for hot weather and minimal precipitation.
