# Escape from Drones: Wildberries Urgently Relocates Logistics to Kazakhstan Due to Ukrainian Attacks

Wildberries, Russia's largest marketplace owned by the RWB group, has begun a massive migration of its logistics capabilities. Amidst regular drone strikes by Ukrainian forces on Russian territory, the company is forced to seek safe havens abroad, placing its bets on Kazakhstan.

According to data obtained by the publication "Kommersant" and transmitted to RBC-Ukraine, the Russian owners of the marketplace have started actively searching for warehouse space in the neighboring country. The scale of their ambitions is impressive: the company is considering leasing options of up to 100,000 square meters, and in some cases, is ready to purchase all available free real estate objects in Kazakhstan.

### Logistical Deadlock in Russia

The reason for such radical measures lies in the inability to operate in the usual mode within Russia. Owners of commercial real estate in the RF are massively refusing to sign new lease agreements with Wildberries. The problem is not a lack of demand for premises, but extremely high risks.

The presence of the marketplace's goods on a warehouse automatically turns the facility into a priority target for Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) strikes. At the same time, basic insurance policies for large objects in Russia do not cover damage from drone attacks. For businesses, this means that any strike could lead to colossal financial losses without the possibility of recovering funds.

Recall that this morning, Ryazan was subjected to a massive drone attack. The Wildberries sorting complex and a local oil refinery were hit. This is just one example demonstrating the vulnerability of the Russian giant's logistics infrastructure.

### Kazakhstan as a Lifeline

Construction of facilities for the Russian marketplace is already in full swing in Kazakhstan. Two large logistics complexes are being built in the country. However, finding the necessary space in the shortest possible time will be a difficult task.

The market for quality logistics space in Kazakhstan is extremely limited. The total volume of such space is only 1.9 million square meters, and the vacancy rate does not exceed 5.8%. This means that Wildberries will have to compete for every square meter with local and international players.

At the moment, the Russian marketplace has 209 logistics facilities with a total area of more than 5.6 million square meters. Relocating even part of these capacities to the neighboring state will become the largest shift in the logistics map of Eastern Europe, dictated by military necessity.
