Temporary restrictions on the operation of the WOG gas station network are being introduced in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The decision was made in connection with the threat of a massive shelling by the aggressor. Gas station operators will be unavailable from 23:00 on July 1st until 07:00 on July 2nd.

### Reason for closure: people's safety

The WOG company press service has officially confirmed the information about the suspension of the operation of fuel complexes. The statement indicates that the measure is preventive and aimed at ensuring the safety of personnel and customers. In the event of a possible large-scale strike on the capital and the region, open spaces and fuel facilities become potential targets, making the presence of people there extremely dangerous.

"Gas stations in the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region will be closed from 23:00 on 01.07.2026 to 07:00 on 02.07.2026. Due to possible massive shelling and in order to ensure the safety of personnel and customers," the official message says.

### President's warning and intelligence data

The decision to close gas stations was made against the backdrop of alarming statements by the head of state. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned Ukrainians of the real threat of a massive shelling of the country. According to the leader of Ukraine, intelligence data indicates that the enemy has been preparing this strike for a long time.

Zelenskyy called on citizens to be extremely vigilant: to respond to air raid alarms and immediately head to shelters. The call for the population to take into account changes in the operation of fuel stations when planning night trips became part of the overall civil defense strategy.

### Strikes on other regions of Ukraine

The situation in the country remains tense, which is confirmed by the attacks carried out during the day. Russia has already struck several regions, resulting in casualties and destruction:

- **Odesa region:** As a result of a ballistic missile strike, two people died and 15 were injured. The head of the regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, reported that 11 injured people were hospitalized and are under medical supervision.

- **Kharkiv:** During the day, the occupiers used guided aerial bombs. As a result of the shelling, 26 people were injured. Two people died in the Novobavarskyi district, including a 15-year-old teenager.

- **Kherson:** A Russian drone hit a route bus. The attack claimed the life of a child, and two traffic police officers were injured.

The combination of these events dictates the need for strict precautionary measures, including the closure of infrastructure that is critical for logistics but dangerous for people to be in at night.
