# A Victory with a Bitter Taste: Yaryna Hryhoriyenko on Her Miss at the Two-Meter Bar in Rabat

### First Start of the Season: Victory Without Satisfaction

The third leg of the Diamond League in Rabat, Morocco, ended with mixed emotions for Ukrainian high jumper Yaryna Hryhoriyenko. Despite winning the gold medal, the athlete was not entirely satisfied with her performance. The native of Dnipro achieved a result of 1.97 meters, but her ambitions were significantly higher.

Hryhoriyenko attempted to clear the bar at exactly two meters but failed to do so even once. Consequently, she moved her final attempt to a height of 2.02 meters, which also did not succeed. For the track and field athlete, this leg was the first start of the current season, and she had hoped for a more impressive result.

### "I Want to Jump Higher Than Two Meters"

In an interview after the competition, Yaryna admitted that the result did not meet her expectations. "Of course, the result is not very good. Not what I expected from my first summer start," the athlete noted. Nevertheless, she expressed satisfaction with having opened the season and now having more time to prepare for the European Championships and the World Championships.

Hryhoriyenko's main goal for the season remains unchanged: "I want to jump a lot higher than two meters — that is my main goal." Despite the failure at the two-meter bar, the Ukrainian maintains optimism and intends to work on improving her performance.

### Results of Other Ukrainian Track and Field Athletes

At the same leg of the Diamond League, another Ukrainian high jumper, Yulia Levchenko, also competed. The athlete from Bakhmut took fourth place with a result of 1.91 meters. She was outperformed not only by her compatriot Yaryna Hryhoriyenko but also by Australian Eleanor Patterson and Serbian Angelina Topić.

Earlier, there were reports of the first international victory of Ukrainian Iryna Herashchenko after her maternity leave. These successes demonstrate the high level of preparation of Ukrainian track and field athletes and their readiness for serious international competitions.
