# Yellow alert in Kyiv: forecasters warn of wind gusts up to 20 m/s

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, a sharp deterioration of weather conditions is expected in the coming hours. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has declared a yellow alert level due to forecasted wind gusts reaching 15–20 meters per second. This information has been confirmed by an official statement from the Kyiv City State Administration (Kyiv City Council).

### Consequences of the bad weather for the city

Stronger winds pose serious risks to urban infrastructure and the safety of residents. Meteorologists warn that the bad weather could complicate the operations of energy, construction, and utility companies. Additionally, disruption of normal traffic flow is expected.

The primary threat in such conditions comes from trees. Strong winds can uproot them or break large branches, creating a danger for pedestrians and vehicles.

### Emergency services: who to call in case of an emergency

The Kyiv City State Administration has prepared a list of emergency contacts for rapid response to the effects of storm winds. Residents of the capital are advised to act as follows:

    - **Falling trees or broken branches:** report to the emergency dispatch service of "Kyivzelenstroy" at 044 272 40 18.

    - **Threat to life:** if falling trees or branches pose an immediate threat to human life, contact the rescue service immediately at 101 or the KARS hotline — 044 430 37 13.

    - **Injuries:** in case of injuries or casualties, call an ambulance immediately at 103.

    - **Road infrastructure:** in case of malfunctioning traffic lights or road signs, report to the Center for Organization of Road Traffic (TSDD) at 050 387 35 42.

Specialists urge citizens to exercise caution and avoid staying under tree canopies during periods of strong winds.
