An active atmospheric front from Western Europe is approaching the territory of Ukraine, promising to radically change weather conditions. On Wednesday, July 8, meteorologists forecast unstable weather accompanied by dangerous meteorological phenomena. Following this atmospheric process, cooler air is expected to arrive, replacing current temperature indicators.

### Dangerous weather phenomena and yellow threat level

Specialists from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (Ukrhydrometcenter) have warned that short-term rains of varying intensity will be observed throughout the country during the day. These precipitations may be accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and gusty wind strengthening. In some areas, wind gusts may reach 15–20 m/s, which corresponds to the I level of danger — "yellow".

A particularly difficult situation is expected in the western and northern regions, where noticeable wind gusts are likely. During the day, short-term rains and thunderstorms are forecast for most of the territory, with the exception of western regions and the far east. At night, precipitation is expected in most regions, with only the southeastern part of the country remaining rain-free.

### Changes in atmospheric pressure and wind

Due to the passage of the front, atmospheric pressure will drop intensively, and air humidity will undergo significant fluctuations. The wind is generally expected to be south-western or western with a speed of 7–12 m/s, however, in zones where squalls pass, its speed will increase sharply.

### Forecast for Kyiv and the Kyiv region

In the capital region, the weather on July 8 is expected to be cloudy with clearings. During the day in Kyiv and the region, dangerous meteorological phenomena are also forecast, including wind gusts up to 15–20 m/s. Despite the fact that the general wind background will be western, local squalls will require increased vigilance from residents.

### Rescuers' recommendations

Considering the forecast, specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) strongly advise avoiding being outdoors in places where trees or advertising structures may fall. Rescuers emphasize the need to be attentive and cautious during the passage of the atmospheric front, as weather conditions may lead to a deterioration of the road situation and other unforeseen circumstances.
