Ukraine is entering a phase of weather stabilization. On July 15, according to the forecast of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMC), cool air masses will be replaced by genuine summer heat. However, forecasters warn: comfortable temperatures do not guarantee calm. In several regions, stronger winds, dangerous thunderstorms, and a rise in river water levels are expected.

### Summer heat and yellow alert level

Experts note a change in air currents. Despite the predominance of northwesterly winds, the climatic situation will shift towards warming. In some places, temperatures will rise, and precipitation will decrease. Nevertheless, a yellow alert level for weather phenomena has been declared across the country on the afternoon of July 15.

Forecasters predict the probability of thunderstorms, which could lead to serious consequences for infrastructure. In particular, there is a risk of complications for energy enterprises. Local residents should be prepared for possible power outages.

### Hydrological situation: rising water levels in rivers

In addition to atmospheric phenomena, UkrGMC has issued a warning about changes in the hydrological situation. Intense rains may cause local flooding and a rise in water levels in water bodies. In most cases, a rise is forecast without negative consequences, however, the situation requires monitoring.

Experts are paying special attention to the Prut River. A flood wave is expected on the section from Chernivtsi to the state border. The water level here may rise by 0.3 – 0.8 meters. Although experts do not predict catastrophic consequences, residents of coastal areas should remain vigilant.

### Weather in Kyiv and lessons from recent downpours

The capital and Kyiv region will be in a zone of more favorable conditions on this day. Variable cloudiness is forecast, but without precipitation. The contrast with the situation in the western regions of the country is obvious: earlier, Lviv was covered by a powerful downpour, which led to the flooding of streets and building entrances. At that time, lightning struck the city TV tower, and power outages were observed in some areas.

The events in Lviv vividly demonstrate how quickly summer weather can change. Forecasters urge citizens to follow current forecasts and observe safety precautions in case of deteriorating conditions.
