# Yellow level of danger: forecasters warn of thunderstorms and gusts in Ukraine on June 24

Forecasters from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMTC) have published a weather forecast for Wednesday, June 24. On this day, variable cloudiness is expected across the country, however, southern regions will face serious meteorological challenges. Meteorologists have declared a yellow level of danger due to the likelihood of hazardous phenomena.

### Thunderstorms, hail, and gusts in the south

According to the forecast, precipitation and dangerous weather conditions will be recorded mainly in the southern regions during the day on Wednesday. Experts warn of the possibility of strong thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds. Wind gust speeds in certain areas may reach 15–20 m/s. Such conditions require increased vigilance from the population and adherence to safety rules.

Overall across the territory of Ukraine, the wind on Wednesday will blow predominantly from the northwest, at a speed of 5–10 m/s. Despite local deteriorations in the south, the majority of the country will remain under a cover of variable cloudiness without critical precipitation.

Residents of the capital and Kyiv region can breathe a sigh of relief: precipitation is not expected in their region. The weather in Kyiv on June 24 will be characterized by variable cloudiness, which will help avoid downpours and gusts threatening the southern districts of the country.
