Operations at the major METRO shopping center in Zaporizhzhia have been temporarily suspended. The reason is regular forced interruptions due to the security situation, which make it impossible to maintain stable store operations and the usual level of service for customers.

### The decision to close

The shopping center, located at 7-A Orekhovskoye Highway, is closing from August 1 until further notice. The company published an official statement on Facebook, which was noted by the RBC-Ukraine publication.

METRO's press service emphasized that the decision was difficult but necessary. According to the company's internal rules, all retail outlets must cease operations during air raids. This requirement was introduced to ensure the safety of customers and employees. However, frequent and prolonged interruptions make normal store operations impossible.

"We made this difficult decision due to regular forced interruptions related to the security situation," the retailer's representatives reported.

### Delivery service remains available

Despite the closure of the physical store in Zaporizhzhia, the company is maintaining its HoReCa delivery service (for restaurants, hotels, and cafes) in the region. Goods will be supplied from other METRO shopping centers located in safe regions.

Entrepreneurs who have not yet subscribed to the delivery service are advised to contact personal managers or the contact center to place orders.

### Context of the situation

The decision to close the store in Zaporizhzhia comes against the backdrop of a worsening situation in the region. The reminder of the risks became particularly relevant following recent incidents. For instance, on the morning of July 26, a Russian attack drone struck the "Epitsentr" hypermarket in Kryvyi Rih. The hit caused a massive fire covering more than 16,000 square meters of the building.

METRO thanked its customers for their understanding and assured them that they continue to look for ways to provide Ukrainian businesses with stable service even under difficult security conditions. The company will announce the resumption of the shopping center's operations in Zaporizhzhia on its official website and social media channels.
