Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that in the coming days, the country will receive a new package of missiles for the Patriot air defense system from the United States, capable of intercepting ballistic targets. The head of state made this statement while speaking to journalists following the NATO summit.

### Details of the agreements: US and Europe

Responding to a direct question about whether an agreement on PAC-3 missile deliveries was reached at the summit, Zelensky called the meeting productive. He emphasized that the package from the US will be transferred in the coming days. Additionally, the President noted the existence of separate agreements with European partners.

"In the case of European countries, specific dates are not yet available, but Ukraine will definitely receive additional PAC-3 missiles," the Ukrainian leader clarified. Thus, Kyiv expects to replenish its arsenal both from Washington and within the framework of European aid, although the delivery schedule from the EU remains uncertain.

### Critical shortage and enemy tactics

The arrival of new ammunition has become a matter of survival for the Ukrainian air defense system. The shortage of missiles capable of shooting down ballistic targets has long been one of the key problems. Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy "Flash" Beskrestnov, recently stated that the country "has no missiles at all" for destroying ballistic targets.

This vulnerability is being actively exploited by the Russian military. During the last massive strike on Kyiv and the Kyiv region, the enemy used 23 Iskander-M and S-400 ballistic missiles. During that attack, Ukrainian air defense failed to shoot down a single ballistic missile, which led to serious destruction.

### New prospects: license from the US

Against the backdrop of an acute shortage, reports are emerging about long-term solutions to the problem. Yesterday, July 8, US President Donald Trump promised to provide Ukraine with a license to produce Patriot missiles. If this initiative is implemented, it could radically change the situation with air defense system supplies, reducing dependence on external deliveries in the future.
