Ukraine is preparing for a critical test: President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned of a high probability of a massive Russian strike in the coming hours. The head of state voiced alarming data received from the Air Force command, indicating that the aggressor's preparation for a large-scale operation began several days ago.

### Warning from the Air Force Command

Information about the impending threat came directly from the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Anatoliy Kruk. In his report, he confirmed that Russian forces have completed the preparatory stages for launching a strike. Zelensky emphasized that the current night is becoming the most dangerous period for the country.

«The Russians prepared for a massive strike several days ago, and it is highly likely that the strike will be carried out tonight», — the president stated, addressing the nation and the international community.

### Critical role of Western air defense

In addition to warning citizens, Zelensky used this moment to address partner countries directly. He emphasized that the protection of Ukrainians' lives directly depends on the speed of air defense system deliveries. The head of state paid special attention to the United States and other allies possessing stockpiles of missiles for the «Patriot» systems.

According to Zelensky, Western partners fully understand what is required for the effective defense of Ukraine's sky. The president noted that they also realize the heavy consequences that will inevitably follow in the event of a delay in assistance.

### Call to the population and statistics of recent attacks

In connection with the threat of a massive strike, the president called on residents of all regions of Ukraine to strictly observe safety rules and respond to air raid alarms. The situation remains tense against the backdrop of recent events: on the night of July 29, Russia attacked the country with an unprecedented number of drones.

At that time, the enemy launched 229 strike drones from various directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down or suppress 65 targets in the north, south, and east of Ukraine. Nevertheless, 14 drones hit 10 locations, and debris from shot-down machines fell in two other places. The current threat of a new massive strike poses new challenges for the country's defenders.
