An important decision has been made in Kyiv aimed at accelerating the development of air defense systems. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that specific personnel appointments and steps have been identified to speed up the implementation of key initiatives for sky protection.

The Head of State highlighted three priority areas requiring immediate attention and resources:

- Development of the national anti-ballistic program FREYJA.

- Organization of work with the United States regarding the licensing of Patriot system production.

- Expansion of cooperation with European partners within the framework of joint defense programs.

Particular interest is drawn to the FREYJA project, which is positioned as the future European anti-ballistic shield. Previously, co-founder and chief designer of Fire Point, Denis Shchillerman, revealed the technical details of the concept. The system will be created based on the principle of open architecture. This key distinction means that the platform will not be rigidly tied exclusively to Ukrainian interceptor missiles, opening up possibilities for the integration of various components.

According to the developers' plan, FREYJA will combine advanced European radars and sensors with cost-effective Ukrainian missiles. Such a symbiosis of technologies is intended to form a single pan-European protective shield, similar to the Israeli 'Iron Dome,' and significantly strengthen the air defense system of the continent.
