The situation on the battlefield of the modern conflict is undergoing significant changes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the Reuters Next summit, voiced an assessment of the current situation that radically diverges from pessimistic forecasts. According to the head of state, Ukraine is demonstrating superiority over the aggressor both tactically on the battlefield and in the sphere of advanced weapons production.

### Shift of Initiative on the Front

The key thesis of the speech was the assertion that the Russian army has lost strategic initiative. Zelenskyy provided specific data: Russian troops attempted offensives on 12 fronts simultaneously. However, according to him, these attempts failed almost everywhere, and the initiative has passed to the Ukrainian side.

The situation looks as follows:

- On most sections of the front, the enemy's advance has been stopped.

- Slow progress is recorded only on two or three sections where Russia has concentrated a colossal amount of manpower and equipment.

- On the remaining fronts, the Defense Forces not only stopped the enemy but also began successful counter-offensive operations.

The President placed special emphasis on the Pokrovsk direction, noting that it is there that Ukrainian troops are demonstrating the greatest effectiveness. Despite this, hostilities are not subsiding, as neither side intends to stop the movement on the battlefield.

### Technological Superiority and Drone Production

A crucial factor for success, Zelenskyy called the development of its own military-industrial complex. The head of state stated that Ukraine "looks better" in the context of medium and long-range strikes. Drone production statistics speak for themselves: this year, the production of about 10 million drones is planned. At the same time, production capacity allows doubling this figure, bringing output to 20 million units.

### International Support and Geopolitical Context

State stability is ensured not only by military successes but also by increased international pressure on the aggressor. Zelenskyy noted that Western sanctions are beginning to work more effectively, although their volume is still insufficient to completely paralyze the enemy's economy. A significant support was the partners' decision to allocate 90 billion euros of European support.

Special resonance was caused by the mention of the US position. Earlier, US President Donald Trump repeatedly stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy allegedly had no "cards" in the war with Russia. These words were spoken during an incident at the White House in 2025, which was accompanied by a public quarrel between leaders. However, current events and statements by the Ukrainian president on the international arena indicate that Kyiv has not only cards but also a clear strategy that is beginning to bear fruit.
