Filming has begun in Ukraine for a full-length documentary true crime film titled "Її три дієслова" (Her Three Verbs), dedicated to the tragic murder of prominent linguist and public figure Iryna Farion. The project became one of the winners of the state competition "Tysyachevesna" and aims to thoroughly investigate not only the crime itself, but also the broader context that led to it. The creators intend to use unique archival materials, court records, and modern digital evidence to build a profound narrative.

Unique Archives from 2022

Special value is added to the upcoming film by materials shot back in 2022 during Iryna Farion's lifetime. Director Yuriy Dvizhon spent six filming days with her while working on the short film "The Virgin of Ukrainian Nationalism." The crew ended up with about 13 hours of exclusive interviews and observations of the public figure and her family, most of which have never been publicly broadcast before. Following the tragic events of July 2024, these footage items took on a completely different meaning.

Linguistic Detective and Court Proceedings

Screenwriter and co-director Karina Pustovalova notes that the authors deliberately avoided a standard criminal chronicle format, framing the story as a linguistic detective. The focus is placed on words, their hidden subtexts, and digital traces that helped shape the criminal intent. The film crew has documented the course of the trial, the work of lawyers, and public reactions, including footage from the funeral in Lviv.

Family Perspective and Public Significance

Iryna Farion's daughter, Sofiya Osoba, has joined the documentary project. In her opinion, the film should answer the main question of why her mother, who openly expressed uncompromising nationalist views, became a target. The creators hope the picture will help viewers better understand the scale of the public figure's personality. The main block of court trial filming has been completed, but the premiere date will be announced later.
