In Ukraine, the results of the academic year have been summarized, and the best pedagogical higher education institutions have been identified. Experts have released an updated ranking that reflects the current state of the higher education system in the field of pedagogy. The list of leaders was formed based on a deep comprehensive analysis covering key performance indicators of university operations.
How the ranking was formed
According to data from the information resource «Osvita.ua», cited by RBC-Ukraine, the evaluation methodology was based on three fundamental criteria. Experts analyzed the academic achievements of universities, the volume and quality of scientific publications, as well as the results of the 2026 admissions campaign. This approach allowed for an objective picture that takes into account both scientific potential and popularity among applicants.
The consolidated list of leaders was compiled by summing up the positions that institutions held in three authoritative Ukrainian rankings. The final score was calculated by simply adding the positions: the lower the resulting figure, the higher the university's position in the final list.
Scoring methodology
A feature of the methodology was the rule for universities not represented in one of the three basic rankings. In such cases, the institution was automatically awarded a score following the last possible place in the respective list. This allowed the inclusion of the maximum number of educational institutions in the final table, even if their indicators in individual categories did not make it into the leading group.
This ranking becomes an important guide for students planning to apply and for partners of educational institutions. Previously, the media discussed the results of the «TOP-200 Ukraine 2026» ranking, as well as data on technical universities that entered the international Scopus 2026 ranking. Now, the focus has shifted to teacher education, which remains one of the priority areas for the country's development.
