Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved the launch of a large-scale 40-day operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The main objective of this special operation is to exert influence on the aggressor state to encourage an end to the war. The head of state announced this during a discussion of a report by SBU Director Yevhen Yermak.
Special Operation and Long-Range Sanctions
During the meeting, the president reviewed the results of the intelligence service's work and approved an action plan for the coming month. As part of the strategy, issues regarding the implementation of "long-range sanctions" and medium-range sanction measures were discussed. Zelenskyy emphasized that during this period, the SBU demonstrated the highest performance in defending Ukraine's positions on the front lines.
Unmanned aerial vehicles of various types played a key role in the success of the operation. The head of state noted that the Alpha Special Operations Center became the leader in terms of casualties inflicted on the personnel and military equipment of the occupying forces.
Plan for Crimea and G7 Support
Earlier, on June 24, Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation regarding Crimea is precisely calculated. According to him, provided that Ukraine receives all the weapons agreed upon by partners in the "Group of Seven," the Defense Forces will be able to quickly create conditions that will force Russia to agree to a peaceful settlement.
International support strengthens Kyiv's position. During the G7 summit, US President Donald Trump highly praised Ukrainian long-range strikes on military targets within the Russian Federation and expressed support for increasing sanction pressure on the Russian energy sector.
Return to Sanction Policy
US Deputy Secretary of State Jeremy Levine stated that Ukraine is winning the war. He also emphasized that the United States, together with European allies, is returning to a full-scale sanction policy against Russia, which correlates with Kyiv's plans for the 40-day influence operation.
