Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) have demonstrated high-intensity strikes against energy infrastructure and depots in temporarily occupied territories. In a short period — just 48 hours covering July 1 and 2 — drones delivered a series of precision strikes on critical facilities.
According to Robert Brovdi, commander of the USF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, known by the callsign "Madyar", 12 electrical substations and one gas distribution station were destroyed or damaged during these 24 hours. The attacks were carried out with high precision, as confirmed by specific locations and strike results.
Strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk Regions
One of the key targets was a fuel and lubricants depot in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. The strike was executed by units of the 412nd Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade "Nemesis". This dealt a significant blow to the logistics of the occupying forces, depriving them of access to essential resources.
Simultaneously, fighters of the 20th Separate USF Brigade "K-2" successfully struck a gas distribution station in the settlement of Aidar in the Luhansk region. These actions demonstrate the ability of Ukrainian units to coordinate efforts and attack targets in different regions simultaneously.
Escalation: Strikes on Russian Territory
The activity of Ukrainian drones was not limited to occupied territories. On the night of July 2, a powerful strike was recorded on an oil refinery (OR) in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. As a result of the attack, a large-scale fire broke out at the facility, attracting the attention of the public and media.
It is important to note that Kstovo is not just an industrial object, but a strategically important point. In close proximity to the refinery is another critical infrastructure facility of the Russian Federation, making this area vulnerable to further attacks.
Strategy of Pressure on the Russian Energy Sector
The attack on Kstovo became part of a broader campaign. Earlier reports stated that the Defense Forces of Ukraine had already struck eight of the ten largest oil refineries in Russia. Some of these enterprises were subjected to attacks repeatedly, indicating a systematic approach to destroying the enemy's energy potential.
Robert Brovdi, commenting on the situation, left a characteristic post on social media: "What a moonlit, starry, clear night... Moscow will fall." These words, which have become a kind of motto for drone operators, underscore the determination of Ukrainian military personnel to continue pressure on the enemy's infrastructure, regardless of the time of day or weather conditions.
